Thanks for supporting FrontLine Ministries! Hi Friends,
FrontLine’s next Brain Injury Respite Retreat is June 29-July 1. These events provide a desperately needed break from the exhausting demands of providing care for family members with a Brain Injury. There will be spouses, parents, siblings and children of Brain Injury Survivors in attendance. Let me give an example of new friends coming for their first Retreat. I will change their names.
Joanne is in her seventies now. Her daughter Lynn has had numerous brain injuries from aneurisms for over 30 years. Joanne was forced to retire early to become full time caregiver for Lynn. Lynn’s ability to speak is limited to “yes and no” and use of facial expression to communicate. She has great difficulty walking, dressing, and with other daily living skills that we take for granted.
Joanne needs a break. If not for the weekend, at least for a few hours. She needs a good meal that has been prepared for her. She needs someone else to wash the dishes and clean up the kitchen. She needs a little TLC to keep going! When I described the Retreat to her, she wept. She said it has been decades since she has had any reprieve.
Joanne and Lynn represent other families dealing with these demands on a daily basis that will be attending.
We need $4000 to cover expenses for this retreat.
If you are able to contribute, please make your check payable to FrontLine Ministries and mail to FLM, PO Box 9, Tipton PA, 16684.
Or, scroll down (on this page) to the donate button and you will go to our secure donation portal.
Local friends are invited to help in the kitchen with food preparation and service.
Gifts in kind are welcome as well! Food (holler if you would like a copy of the Needs List), especially homemade baked goods are always a hit!
Thanks so very much for considering this request!
