THE BURMA PROJECT AT A GLANCE
Conception of The Burma Project
In August 2013, following five months of field work with two Burmese NGO’s, Kate Palmer became exceedingly passionate about formally establishing a means of empowering grassroots civil society groups to pursue more environmentally friendly, peaceful and sustainable futures. After solidifying the first organizational and fundraising support, including a $5,000 monetary pledge, from FrontLine Ministries, The Burma Project officially began to take form. The Burma Project remains under the umbrella of the registered 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization, FrontLine Ministries.
Completed Inaugural Project Overview
In 2014-2015 we successfully collaborated with Burmese NGO, NEED-Burma on a solar installation project at the Eco Village Farm. Our team, together with the support and local knowledge of the NEED-Burma staff, completed a solar energy workshop and installation project at NEED’s new Eco-Village Farm (EVF) located in Hmawbi Township, Yangon Division, Burma.
Current Project Overview
In 2016 and moving into 2017, we would like to help NEED-Burma by funding the expansion of the EVF. One of the primary purposes of this expansion is to fund a mushroom farming enterprise. The mushroom farm will be a source of recurring, sustainable income for NEED-Burma, and will enable them to fund the Eco-Village Farm's academic, agricultural and peace keeping initiatives.
